BB Cream are all the rage these days. Something I MUST try.. I wish I could get my hands on the Original product which most say had been created by Dr Christine Schrammek. Many companies are jumping on the band wagon and are creating their own version of this wonder product. What is BB cream and where did it come from? BB cream, also known as Blemish Balm, Blemish Base or Beblesh Balm (due to an apparent copyright on the word "Blemish), is a cosmetic item sold mainly in East and Southeast Asia, although larger beauty brands are increasingly introducing BB creams to Western markets as well. Originally formulated in Germany by dermatologist Dr. Christine Schrammek in the 1950s the cream was initially used to protect skin after laser procedures and surgery, while also providing light coverage. Introduced to South Korea and Japan in the 1980s, BB cream has been named "the secret of Korean actresses" and has been heavily endorsed by Korean celebrities which gained it large exposure in these Asian markets. BB creams come in a variety of different formulations and qualities mainly perceived as being anti-inflammatory and having a soothing effect. As companies focused initially on the East Asian market, BB creams have a limited number of hues. Due to its "multi-tasking" all-in-one properties — moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock — the cream became a hit in Asia, especially in South Korea, where BB creams make up 13% of the cosmetics market. The cream is also used by men in South Korea, Leading Asian brands include, Missha, The Face Shop, Etude House, Sulhwasoo, Skin Food and Nature Republic.
Companies began in 2011 to launch BB creams in Western markets, namely Garnier and Dr. Jart, with others such as Dior and Clinique following suit in 2012. BB creams have been tailored for Western markets: for example, although whitening properties are a main selling point of BB creams in Asia, Estee Lauder is not including it in their formulation for North America. Because of the variety of BB creams out there I can't pinpoint a cost because they vary so much. The original is said to be around $60 while the cheaper brands can be just under $10.00. But to truely review what this product does, I would think one would need to buy the first born product by Dr Schrammek. Some people will try buying it on ebay but there are so many imposters out there you would not know if you were getting the real deal. That is why a lot of people are buying it straight from Korea.
The last thing on my wish list isn't really "a" product but a brand of products. I have always wanted to buy MAC Cosmetics. This high end makeup is suppose to be the best of the best. The eye shadows are highly pigmented, while the lipsticks are to be the most creamy luxurious product ever to grace your lips. You can tell the MAC Makeup is good by the price of it. (As if you should go by that) To create a custom makeup palette it would cost currently $188.50. That gives you 15 eyeshadows that you pick out to create your own palette. Several people will buy the empty palette and a few eyeshadows at a time so they can fill it up as they can afford it. They have a variety of lipsticks such as Sheen Surpreme Lipstick, Viva Glam, Pro Longwear Lipcreme, and the newly released "Hey, Sailor!" Lipstick that has the cutest blue and white stripe sailor packaging. Mac also has a skin care line, foundations, powders and blushes. I most recently found out they also carry Nail Lacquer's in several colors. MAC also comes up with special sets every now and then. One being the "Hello Kitty" collection and the more recent "Hey Sailor" collection. I have yet to buy my first piece of MAC makeup. Although they do have an online store, I really like to see the products in person before buying and there are no MAC stores near me that sells it. So that is why it is on my wishlist of products to buy.
Well, that is the top 5 wishlist products. I hope that some of the descriptions help you decide if they are something you may want to put on your wish list as well.
Take care!
cheri :)
